In taking the SG Futures Beginner’s Academy, you will learning everything someone new to trading needs to know, whilst filtering out the noise. Broken into 3 modules, we’ll give you everything you need from a theory and practical perspective to begin your journey into the world of trading. We all had to start somewhere, and all of the content is based on real-world experience in today’s markets.

Topics Include:

  • Myths versus realities
  • What trading actually is
  • Rules to live by – Risk Management
  • How to read what a chart is telling you
  • Understanding the types of trading timeframe that work for you
  • How to set up a demo account, and later a funded account
  • Creating a plan (sample plan included)
  • Chart Indicators
  • Knowing your competition
  • Structuring a trade, how to identify a high probability setup
  • Trading psychology

Trying to trade the markets with little or no experience is incredibly daunting, and it’s almost impossible to know where to start. By following the steps in our course, you’ll come away with a solid foundation on which to build on, in a way that works for you.

level Up sessions

The SG Futures Level Up Sessions give you the tools to take the next step in moving to trading full-time, or just to give you an extra edge over the competition. This course revolves around the teachings of Peter Steidlmayer and James Dalton on the topic of Market Profile and TPO (Time, Price, Opportunity). The founders of SG, at one time or another, needed to take the leap from being a part-time participant in the markets, to a full-time trader. Everything covered off in the course material is designed to aid you in making that commitment.

Topics Include:

  • Market Profile & TPO
  • Reading Equity Market Internals
  • Price ladder trading
  • Reading the tape
  • Footprint charts
  • Moving from online platform to brokerage
  • Broker recommendations
  • Combining Market Profile and regular candlestick charts
  • Identifying when ‘the other timeframe’ is present
  • How to trade the cash market open

The concepts we speak about throughout this course are all borne out of what we each wanted to know before we took the leap to trading full-time. The course is structured in a way that you’ll learn all of the core elements of the topics listed above, with examples of how you can apply them to real-world trading scenarios. You will come away from this course with an enormous edge on other traders who don’t use Market Profile.

Trading foreign exchange (forex), bonds, indices and commodities, on margin, carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all individuals. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in equity indices or other markets you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some, or all, of your initial investment. Therefore, you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. In some cases, it is possible to lose more than your initial investment as it is not always possible to exit a market at the price you intend upon doing so. There are also risks associated with utilising an Internet-based trade execution software application including, but not limited to, the failure of hardware and software. You should be aware of all the risks associated with investing in foreign exchange or other markets and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.

The risk of loss in trading foreign exchange or other markets can be substantial. You should therefore carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your financial circumstances. The high degree of leverage that is obtainable through, for example, futures trading, options trading, Spread Betting and CFD trading can work against you as well as for you. The use of leverage can lead to large losses as well as gains. This brief statement can’t disclose all the risks in trading foreign exchange or other markets.
